Growing Fuel from the Ground

You know, it's scary when you think about it, because it's actually chemically possible, unlike most "we can turn pyrite into gold!" scams, or perpetual motion infinite energy generator scams.

Well, shit, this is another one of my not-blog blogs

Didn't Eric post about some CO2 guzzling organism or mechanism about a year ago?
Never heard from that one yet.

That was in like 8th grade, and that was when he was arguing that global warming wasn't a problem, actually.

This wouldn't fix global warming any, but yeah, at least they have more of an action potential going on here.

This is kinda why I want to become an environmental engineer or astrobiologist or aeronautical engineer. This is exciting since, if it pans out, we can manage to grow all of our energy needs (at least, for cars) domestically, reducing the need for foreign oil and increasing our chances of colonizing other planets.

I can't wait for the future!

PS. It's completely retarded to say global warming doesn't exist - if it didn't, the Earth would be a lifeless, cold, barren, wretched rock 150 million miles to the nearest star. The atmosphere traps CO2 to keep us at a relatively warm temperature year round. The problem is man-made global warming, which is absolutely pants-on-head dumb, and doesn't exist since we've really only started measuring CO2 levels since the industrial revolution in England, roughly 200 years or so ago. I think it's completely impossible for humans to make such a large impact in such a short period of time. That said, CO2 levels are definitely changing for the worst, and we have to plan for that, as well as the eventual depletion of fossil fuels within the next century or so.

Wow, that was longwinded!
